Gore calls for ‘global Marshall plan’

WASHINGTON — Dealing with global warming will be painful, says one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress. To back up his claim he is proposing a recipe many people won’t like _ a 50-cent gasoline tax, a carbon tax and scaling back tax breaks for some home owners.

World leaders will gather today at the United Nations for talks on how to fight global warming. It seems they can’t come up with any other way to turn the US into a third world nation. So ahead they plunge carrying the torch of global warming. Well, maybe that’s not the most apt metaphor.

Climate change may help rainforests
Climate change may lead to lush growth rather than catastrophic tree loss in the Amazonian forests, researchers from the US and Brazil have found. A study, in the journal Science, found that reduced rainfall had led to greener forests, possibly because sunlight levels are higher when there are fewer rainclouds.

From TerraDaily.com we learn that Emory University scientists have discovered (or created) a mutant enzyme that could allow plants to convert CO2 more efficiently during photosynthesis.
“Ichiro Matsumura, PhD, assistant professor of biochemistry at Emory University School of Medicine, is the senior author and principal investigator. The lead author is research specialist Monal R. Parikh.”

Today she runs, hair aflame, to The People’s Republic of Portland, Oregon to glean ideas on building “green” and to discuss how we can all reduce our carbon footprints. Not hers of course, just yours and mine.

Given the number of suicide bombings in addition to the murders of 9/11, Bin Laden has to have a carbon footprint that makes Shaq’s footprint look like a little china girl.
Additionally, how many goats does he own? Is he collecting the manure and putting it in a digester to convert it to methane? Has he erected even one wind turbine?
